Younger UK voters aged 18-24 report their five biggest political issues as:
– Economy
– Crime
– Housing
– Environment
– Education
according to the YouGov weekly tracker survey that has been running since 2011.
Although younger UK citizens share the general population’s identification of the economy as the most significant political issue facing the country in June 2025, the relative importance of young peoples’ issues varies enormously from the concerns of older citizens.

Some of these differences simply represent life stage concerns. That young people should be more worried about Education, Family Life and Housing than older age-groups seems logical. However, some differences represent important and measurable differences in attitudes: in particular, younger people are really far less worried about Immigration and Defence issues than the wider population and more worried about Housing, Crime and Education.
