THE UK WILL REJOIN THE EU’S ERASMUS+ SCHEME which supports undergraduate students to undertake international internships from 2 months to a full academic year across the EU and other member states (now including the UK again!)
The agreement covers, at least at first, only one year (2027/8) and comes with a £570m price tag, but it’s a very welcome start to providing international opportunities for younger people.
Hopefully the UK’s alternative Turing Scheme may continue, offering participation in more countries outside the EU (including Australia, Canada Japan, Switzerland and the USA.)

Now, all that’s needed is a comprehensive Youth Mobility agreement between the UK and EU to allow (/encourage) young people to live and work internationally for two years or so. No biggie.
(Brilliant foreshadowing in this week’s TWOP post!)
